OK. So I set up a etsy shop last night, to maybe sell a few of my pictures I have taken, or some other odds and ends. I also have up there a couple geeky gamer things my sister has made, so please check out her Super Mario and World of Warcraft bead art, and maybe buy one or two.

So, here is how this next part is going to work. I made two youtube playlists, one is of summery summer music, and the other is funny summery activities. You can enjoy this any of three ways:

1. Watch the funny summery videos, then watch the summery summer music.

2. Press play on the summery summer music, and then turn the volume down on the funny summery videos

So universally Bioshock is hitting to rave reviews (minus the fucking secure-rom bullshit that they will eventually have to take out, and a few other launch bugs). Pretty much anyone who plays it realizes that it is a fucking gaming masterpiece.

So tonight I want to bring you some of the music I have been listening to lately, along with some links.

So here is how this is going to work. I went ahead, and instead of making a ton of links to youtube videos for you to clicky on, I made a play list of the Artists I am going to write about, you can just click on the play right below here, and enjoy the music as you are perusing the links and such. Hope you enjoy!

So the first band you are listening to, unless you are skipping this section of my post, is Gogol Bordello. They are a Gypsy Punk band. Yeah, you heard me. Heavily influenced by punk/rock/funk/and the traditional music of Romania and Eastern European, and Gypsy music. In 2005 the band (Especially the lead singer Eugene Hütz) were featured in the movie "Everything is Illuminated" which is fucking excellent, and where I was first exposed to the band and their music. Their albums so far are:

The second Artist, and this bit will be short, is Cas Haley. He's a contestant on "America's Got Talent". I really could care less about the show, but the first time I saw a video of him on youtube, I thought to myself "This fucker needs to be taking Bradley Nowell's spot in sublime, and the band needs to start putting out awesome music again."

Now the third band, I won't lie about this one. It's a total guilty pleasure band. They are not something I can crank in the car, because I will get laughed at for being a dice chucking Fantasy nerd. But sweet fancy moses is fucking Dragonforce a bad ass band. Take INSANE speed metal, and combine it with crazy fantasy lyrics and the occasional video game noise coming from the smoking guitars, and you cannot go wrong. Supposedly they are going to be featured on Guitar Hero 3, and that would make even the most hard core players fingers bleed. But not as much as the Guitar Hero Dueling banjos. That shit is far more insane. Dragonforce has put out three discs so far:

Valley of the Damned - 2003
Sonic Firestorm - 2004
Inhuman Rampage - 2006

Anyone of those discs will gladly dress up in a unicorn fursuit and rape your favorite band's cds.

I know you guys remember that line from Back to the Future. I came across it today while looking up some information on IMDB. Long story short, the trivia page mentioned that the writers had hear the Jiggawatt pronunciation at a science conference, and liked the sound of it. According to Wikipedia "A prominent example of the soft G pronunciation is found in the 1985 movie Back to the Future, where gigawatts was pronounced as jigawatts"
So what I propose is this:

I like Regina Spektor. She has a nice voice and her music is so stripped down that listening to it to me is like listening to a pure distillation of wonderful. And as a bonus, shes not too rough on the eyes.

I'm in the process of finishing watching the "vengeance" trilogy by Chan-wook Park. I would have to say out of three "Oldboy" so far has been my favorite, I am just finishing "My Lady Vengeance", and "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" was pretty badass. His directing style is quite stunning, and all three movies are visual treats. I loved the one-take fight scene in Oldboy, probably one of my favorite fight scenes of all time.

Hmm I read some news sites this morning, and joystiq has a pretty decent article about how "dwarf fortress" is the future of gaming. Man.. If there was a tight gui for it, it would rock even more ass..

I think one of the things I love most about it, is the different game modes, and how they interact with the persistant world. If you play a few successful games of Fortress mode, and build some awesome dwarf civilistaions that create some epic weapons, later you can play adventure mode and discover the ruins of your old civs and plunder the loot you created before. Everything in this world functions and has names. Everthing is also generated when you first run the world generator. Its a awesome game if you get into it..

So, on to subject number 2 for todays post. Faith.

I have faith. I don't talk about it much, unless asked. I don't feel its my right to judge others based on their faith, or any other factors. But HOLY SWEET FANCY MOSES! How can some people of faith be so stupid?!?!?!! I watch these two videos, notice their complete lack of a grasp on science and reality, and then I want a peanut butter and bannana sammich. Ok. I guess in the second video maybe he is unwittingly touching on some quantum physics, because I guess that while the lid is on the jar, the peanut butter could be in multiple states (there/not there/a teeming civilization).

Hooray! I have finally found a offline blogging software in ubuntu that I really like. Bleezer is pretty sweet! If your a linux user and blog, then definatly check it out. It works great in windows and mac Os too (cause its java based) so feel free to check it out if you haven't switched yet.

In a few moments I am going to link to you, what I feel may be one of the most in depth and insane games I've ever played. I've put a huge amount of hours into it, and still have barely scratched the surface. It's one of those games that the first time you play it, you'll probably dismiss it.. You'll download(4.8megs and its amazing) and play it for about 5 minutes, and then exit.. But then an hour later you'll get that nagging feeling in a dark recess of your mind. Maybe it was me.. Maybe I need to give it another chance.. And if you do, you'll discover that your made some fool mistake, read some more of the help files, or check out the wiki and plunge back into it.. And quite honestly, you'll think of games in a different way. It's seriously that good.. Its like watching a whole world unfurl in front of you, and your in control. Some people will be put off by the "graphics" but get over it.. If you do, you will be changed.. I can't say it enough, the more I play this game, the more I fall in love with my little dwarfs..The slogan of the game is "Losing is Fun!" and its true with this game.. It is amazing to watch the world grow over each successive play.

Well... I switched a couple weeks ago. Both at work and at home. I'm running Ubuntu full time at home, and duel booting at work, only when I need to do something with Infopath.

Overall I have to say I am really impressed where ubuntu has brought the linux desktop experience. My wife adopted it without a problem. She's using it exactly to the level she was using windows before. I would allmost feel comfortable switching my mom. Its seriously that good now.

With the package mangers, installing new programs is a breeze. Pretty much everything just worked on both of my installations. The only real tweaking I had to do was at work, getting my dual monitors working the way I wanted them..

But.. enough about that.. On with the links!

Man, Every day more and more I consider moving my family to canada. Our plant has a sister plant about a hour from Toronto, and I would be about dead in the middle of My family in NY, and Jamies family here in Ohio. I get sick of listening to the people I work with saying backwards ass shit.

Here are some good examples of recent conversations I have been sucked into at work and basically had my entire office dismiss my disagreeing with them:

Why the LIVING FUCK don't more people know how to use them yet? I mean.. people in jobs where they have to use the fucking things day in and day out cannot fucking use them. It makes my heart sad when I have to train 30 people who fucking make excel documents EVERY FUCKING DAY over and over and over again how to not make excel documents that are 50megs+ and email them back and forth.

I saw that Windows Live Writer went into beta today at work, so I grabbed and and I am "semi" impressed so far. Its not too bad. It was pretty slick the way it grabbed all my current settings and whatnot from blogger and ported them over rather smoothly.

I had been using a windows front end for blogger for some time, so the realm of WLR is not too much of a stretch for me. I have allways found w.bloggar to work really well.

Been a crazy last couple days.. Up is down. Penny Arcade has revoked their game of the year award for WOW.

Well.. Its the start of a new year and I have been jonesing to start blogging again.. I still find lots of cool shit and I am still compelled to share it. Cory's finally got his site being updated on a regular basis so I think the time is right..
Speaking of Cory, he has a list of the best video games of 2004 up on his site.. I geneerally agree with him on it, I am suprised he put HL2 above Halo2 for the best FPS. Not suprised because I think Halo 2 is better, suprised because Cory is a self admitted MS whoremonger and I have pictures to prove it! I definatly agree that HL2 is the far superior game.. About the only additions I would make to his list are:
Best "Rolling Things Up Into a Giant Ball" Game : Katamari Damacy (which is allmost my favorite overall game of 2004, right after WOW)
Best VG related purchase that suprised the fuck out of you with how good it was and it didn't even disappoint even a little bit : The Nintendo DS
Gotta give alot of love to the DS, Even though the launch titles are still slim, the fucking demo for Metroid hunters fucking blew me away.. Using the thumb pad its just like a PC FPS.. In fact its better then most FPSs that came out this last year.

The Trailer for Sin City - Honestly. Between the two trailers (one two) for this movie, they are better then 90% of the dreck that came out this last year. Fucking Robert Rodriguez believes in these movies so much that he has resigned from the directors guild of america to make these the way that he wants to make them. If you have not yet read the Sin City Comics then GO GET THEM NOW. Frank Miller is a fucking god in the comic industry and you cannot call yourself a fan of comics without haveing read the sin city books. Amazon has some examples of his art from sin city up that you can check out for comparison. In fact it seems to be a decent chunk of Marv's story. Also check out the IMDB page for it for some interesting information about it.

Oh and on the HL2 tip, download and install this mod right fucking away! Cory you will seriously shit yourself if your allready impressed with the physics of HL2. And it gives you the ablity to pose the chars from the game making humpy humpy if you so please. Check out some screenshots here! For example check out how fucking pimp this is..

Plus its a pretty nice city, I wish Nate and I would have had more time to explore the city, There was a pretty sweet Comic book shop next door to the theater, and Honest Eds was right down a block or two! (scroll down and look at the pictures, the place was CRAZY). Then we went and had Thai for supper before the show. While waiting for the show we were encouraged by the people going to seat us to try a nice canadian beer while we waited for the doors to open. We were seated in the fourth row, right behind the blood seats!
After the show we found our way out of city and started home, No trip would be complete without a stop at Canadian Tire, and buying some Aero Bars We got home at about 5am and all in all it was a awesome trip, allthough I was not able to acquire any Poutine

I don't quite know what to think about the new Spy Vs. Spy Mt. Dew commercials yet.. I have allways been a big Spy Vs. Spy fan, I've read mad magazine forever, and I even used to play their videogame all the time.

Well.. I am gonna go watch spiderman with my mom since she hasn't seen the first one yet, and I figure she has to see it before we see the new one on tuesday.. I really hope its good. Hellboy has upped my expectations for comic book movies even further.

Mindgame, a 2d/3d animated movie from one of the animation houses that worked on the animatrix. Seriously, I hope this gets a proper english dub because it looks like one of the best animated things I have EVER seen. Its fucking CRAZY. At times it kinda reminds me of foolycooly, Which I loved.

End of the road

I'm through.

I've been trying to write this post for a week or so.. mulling it over in my head.. and now that I am sitting down to actually write it.. Its just too hard.

I don't even know what all to say. The site is obviously dead.. I don't browse the interweb like I did back in the day. And even then.. I just don't get excited about shit like I did then either.. I guess mainly because I just don't really have anyone to share it with like I used to.. I just popped it open tonight to go look for something in the archives, and I saw the smacktards comment on the top post, and figured it was time to get this written. Maybe by shutting the book on this site, I can close out the chapter of my life that this was in some way the heart of.

I started this site back on October 19th of 2000. Just was a way of sharing the crazy shit that I was finding every day with my friends and coworkers in tech support. So much has changed in three years. I've gotten married, had our first kid, and (I like to hope) maybe even grown up a little bit through it all. But even though I have everything I have ever wanted in my life with my loving wife and son. Part of me feels empty and black. I used to have the most fucking awesome friends in the world. Back before I left tech support (a decision I don't think I will ever forgive myself for) my friends were really the focal point of my life. I worked with most of them every day, and hung out constantly with them. The memories I have of the times I spent with them are ones that I will never forget, or I guess forgive myself for ending either. I remember what seemed like countless hours playing video games, driving around, or just goofing around. I don't regret getting married or starting a family.. Jamie is my best friend and my heart. But its very often that I think, "man.. Cory would have really gotten that joke." or, "Geeze.. Scott would apperciate these legos more then anyone else in the world", or "Man, Joel sure was a crack-head unlike any other, good lord he could make me laugh". I don't have anyone to drive around with at 2 in the morning when I can't sleep and get milkshakes with and goof off of, or just to play midtown madness with for hours on end.

Now.. I said "used to have". I guess I still do in one sense. I would still go to the ends of the earth if one of them called out of the blue and told me they needed me. I would drop everything for any one of them and do anything they could want. But.. I don't know.. I don't know if its something that I've done and not realised it.. or what..

I guess as far as I am concerned this is my last post on this website in its current form. Who knows what I will do with it... I will definately leave it up. We'll allways have the archives. And it some small condolence to know that for at least awhile I was the number one search on google for free jetsons porn, and naked pictures of the olsen twins. I even met some pretty cool people from other places throughout it all. But this is it.. the end.. I am tired. I worked my entire sunday today for some nice overtime at work, and I couldn't sleep after I got home at midnight. I hope I got everything out in a somewhat readable manner, so that I can feel somewhat done with feeling what I have been feeling as of late. I just hope getting it all out and written will let me get over everything... To everyone, Thank you for all the great times, I wouldn't trade them for the world. I hope maybe someday there may even be some more.

In Tomb Raider people ACTUALLY FLY

I know its hard to wrap your minds around this concept. But its for real. I have watched this movie and I was amazed. People ACTUALLY FLY! I have never seen this kind of thing done before in a movie. It fucking blows my mind to shit..

Just a couple updates. I started work at a factory today, its my first factory job, but its a very nice and clean factory and the work is easy as shit, and the benefits and pay are awesome. Jamie works at the same factory and on the same shift, so getting there and getting motivated to get there is easy....

I am uploading some pictures of my son so any of you that know me and are interested in seeing him can. Those of you that don't know me, probably don't give a shit.. But judgeing from the two hits a day I get, I bet if you don't care, your not still coming here..
